More About MyDesk

Every EIM Training Student has access to their own Personal Desktop (we call it “MyDesk”), which you can access from any Student computer at the EIM campus…or from any computer with internet access. So during your non-contact hours away from the campus, you can work from home, your workplace, an internet cafe, your web-equipped phone at the beach, etc, etc, etc….

(* Please note – Internet Explorer is required – MyDesk uses Microsoft remote access technologies that will only work with Internet Explorer. Your browser must be set to allow ActiveX controls to run. MyDesk can also be accessed via iPhone or iPad using a suitable RDP app such as “iTap RDP” – contact EIM Training for more details).

Your PD has the latest and greatest Office 2010 programs installed, plus any other programs that you use in your chosen course. So it doesn’t matter if your home computer has older versions of these programs – as long as you can get on the internet (somewhere…anywhere!), you’re connected. (Of course there’s a few “fair use” conditions attached – they’re in the “fine print” at the end. We’re sure you’ll understand.)

If you have any questions or difficulties about any aspect of your EIM Training experience, please ask your trainer or any member of staff for a hand. We’re here to help you in any way we can.

Good luck in your journey forward with EIM Training!

*Here’s the “Fine Print”…

EIM Training provides your “Personal Desktop” to help you complete your chosen courses with the best possible outcomes for you. We provide web browser access to sites you may need to access via your MDesk personal desktop (“PD”) during the times you are at the Campus, but if you’re working at home or at an internet cafe you may only use the programs on your PD via the installed shortcuts. If you want to access other web sites, your must use your own web browser. (No, EIM Training doesn’t want to pay bandwidth fees or risk any legal liability for you to download movies or music or any other illegal – or legal – stuff.) All your PD sessions are monitored and any unauthorised use of EIM Training’s facilities will be reported to the relevant authorities. This includes printing any materials not directly relevant to your course without prior permission from an EIM staff member. You may not access or alter any other student’s materials under any circumstances. Any malicious actions including attempting to insert viruses or delete or change any EIM Training software will be reported to the police.

Please respect the facilities we are providing, and the rights of your fellow Students and the Campus staff. In return, we will make every endeavour to help you succeed in your studies and achieve your goals.
