In order to be upgraded from the TAA to the TAE without completing any additional training and assessment you need to show industry currency, and have the equivalent combination of TAA units to credit transfer into the TAE qualification. This upgrade process costs $150 and may be completed in as little as 5 working days once a TAA Certificate/Statement of Attainment and proof of industry currency is produced by the applicant.
In order to show proof of industry currency you will need to produce:
1. A current resume or CV clearly detailing appropriate work placements where you have designed, moderated/validated, delivered and assessed training within the last 18 months.
2. A job description outlining your current training roles and responsibilities in the organisation where you do your training and assessing.
3. A third party report (the document is provided) completed by a supervisor or manager in an organisation where you have designed, moderated/validated, delivered and assessed training within the last 18 months.
4. A trainer might also ask you some questions as these documents are reviewed.
This qualification reflects the roles of individuals delivering training and assessment services in the vocational education and training (VET) sector. Achievement of this qualification or an equivalent by trainers and assessors is a requirement of the Australian Quality Training Framework Essential Standards for Registration (Standard 1 as outlined in Appendix 2 of the Users’ Guide to the Essential Standards for Registration). This qualification, or the skill sets derived from units of competency within it, is also suitable preparation for those engaged in the delivery of training and assessment of competence in a workplace context, as a component of a structured VET program.
