RSA – Responsible Services of Alcohol

The RSA Certificate - SITHFAB009A Responsible Service of Alcohol is a required qualification if you want to work in a bar or any place serving alcohol – e.g. Flight Attendants, Bar, Hospitality, Restaurant and Catering staff.

Volunteers serving or supplying alcohol will not be required to hold a current RSA training course certificates if performing duties under one of the following license categories:

  • Community club license
  • Community other license
  • Community liquor permit
  • Restricted liquor permit

  • Legal requirements of the service, sale and promotion of alcohol in Queensland
  • Harm minimisation and duty of care
  • Anticipating problems and managing patrons
  • Advise patrons on “standard drinks” and the effects of alcohol
  • Assess and monitor the levels of intoxication of patrons
  • Provide a range of options to assist customers to drink within appropriate limits
  • Knowing the reason for refusing service to intoxicate customers
  • Skills to detect and prevent under-age drinking
  • Refusing service and assisting intoxicated customers
