Every participant – new or continuing – is required to supply EIM with their USI. The USI is required at the time of enrolment. We are unable to accept enrolments without this code or notification of an exemption. The purpose of the USI is to enable the collection and storage of your records of participation in vocational education and training on a central database, allowing you easy access to your records.

A tax file number (TFN) is free and identifies you for tax and superannuation purposes. It’s yours for life. You keep the same TFN even if you change your name, change jobs, move interstate or go overseas. If your details change, you need to let us know.
